THE TOP 17 LABOR DAY SONGS AS VOTED BY YOU

Since this is the Labor Day edition, we wanted to know what you all considered to be the quintessential work-related song. You know, the song you will not only have on rotation over the long holiday weekend, but the one song you have on more than one play list, but it just happens to be a work themed song.

When I posed this question, I really thought everyone was just going to say, “Working for the Weekend” or “Working 9 to 5” and call it a day. To be fair, many of you did, but we also got a ton of other great and interesting answers. To be honest, we were awash in some serious ear candy.

For those that did not participate, this was your chance to get off your chest that your playlist is comprised entirely of Taylor Swift songs. This could have been cathartic for you. Wasted opportunity.

Anyway, we’ve tallied the submissions, listened to each several times, and we can assure you that none of the songs have overstayed their welcome and as such, are timeless.

This also means that you all have incredible musical taste. So, you got that going for you. Give yourself an “atta boy” or an “atta girl” pat on the back. After that, give these songs a spin and listen to the lyrics. Some of these songs may actually broaden your musical horizons. Others may bring back memories.

Now, without any further ado, we give you the Local 697 17 top Labor Day Songs of all time:
