QUOTES FOR THE MONTH OF JULY 2026
“It’s ok to fall apart sometimes ……., Taco’s fall apart and we still love them.”
“Democracy is not something we inherit intact—it is something we choose to maintain.”
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA
The United States is 250 years old on July 4th, 2026. Which is, frankly, impressive for any system that has spent much of that time arguing with itself about whether it should exist in its current form.
And yet it persists—loudly, messily, and with a level of internal disagreement that would normally suggest imminent failure but somehow continues to produce the occasional functioning outcome.
So happy birthday, America. A remarkable milestone in the ongoing experiment of seeing how long “held together by principle and argument” can remain a viable operating model.
It is, admittedly, still functioning. We’re still here! Which occurs like a detail worth checking on more regularly than we do.
YOUR FURTURE CALLED. YOU SENT IT TO VOICE MAIL
We’re officially six months removed from New Year’s Eve. How are those resolutions going?
If one of yours was to become more financially secure, save more, or finally open that Roth account, then the halftime highlights are… surprisingly short.
Now, we’d like to say, “many of you have made an appointment” to speak with Mo. But language has a funny way of helping us avoid uncomfortable truths. The truth is: most of you haven’t.
And at some point, we have to interpret that correctly. Because institutions tend to mistake silence for confusion, when quite often it’s just disinterest expressed politely.
What does that mean? For one, we will no longer interpret continued non-engagement as a standing request for additional reminders.
You want the benefit? Act. Make a phone call or get on the internet.
Don’t know the number or the link to make the appointment? That’s… impressive, actually. It has been communicated ad nauseam, in formats ranging from “impossible to miss” to “you would have to actively resist noticing it.”
So yes—look it up. We promise it is still there. We checked.
