Did you know that United Healthcare provides a hearing benefit? Specifically, the benefit is:
- $0.00 cost for a Routine Hearing Test up to 1 per year.
- $1,500 combined (meaning in total for both ears) allowance for hearing aids, every three years and only if you established a “Hearing Account” with United Healthcare prior to ordering your hearing aids.
That second bullet point is very important. Please reread that again. That statement means that if you purchase hearing aid equipment and did not purchase it through the United Healthcare Hearing program you will not be reimbursed up to the full $1,500 benefit. So to reiterate, if you are thinking about purchasing hearing aids and wish to receive up to the full $1,500 hearing aid benefit, you will need to:
- Set up a UHC Hearing Aid Account. This is done by simply calling United HealthCare at 866-445-2017 anytime between Monday thru Friday from 8 AM to 8 PM. AND,
- If purchasing hearing aid equipment you must do so through the United HealthCare Hearing program.
