2024

If you are reading this - Congratulations! You made it another year. What a privilege that is. Remember, some people, actually a lot of people, were not so fortunate in that regard. So do not take your existence and your time here for granted and make this the best year ever.

Aspirations run wild this time of year. As such my thoughts turn to the goals that we set for ourselves and how many of those actually focus on the things that matter. Like the aforementioned comment on existence or for that matter, happiness.

Now, it has been said that happiness does not come from owning things, but rather from being a part of things. That is no longer hearsay, as recent scientific and medical studies support that statement. So if you want to increase your odds of being happy in 2024, you now know what to do.

If you don't know what to do, how about taking part in a membership meeting? The way I see it, if you’re a member, you’re a member and you ought to be there, attending and participating in at least one meeting a quarter.

My friends, membership is more than just paying dues. It’s about what you do as a member - how you factor into your fellow members’ experience and what you add to the organization. Ask yourself this, when you leave will your fellow members and organization be better for you having been there?

Keep that in mind as you live into your goals and resolutions for 2024. By the way, if your resolutions are silent on such matters, change it. There’s no shame in that. (But there could be if you don’t.)

Now this edition of the newsletter contains a lot of important information, so make sure you read it all. There’s a lot of good stuff in there.

Lastly and before we jump into the rest of this month’s newsletter, I want to thank and acknowledge each and every one of the loyal Benefit Fund newsletter readers for coming to the site and hanging out with us each month. I appreciate all of you, as well as the contributions you make and the laughs we have. I hope it is just as rewarding for you.
