Well, it’s the end of December. So, here is the question: How was your 2024?
This being the last week of 2024, people all around the world are mulling over their 2025 resolutions. Which is pretty cool when you think about it. Why? Well, because this is the one holiday that the entire world celebrates on the same date. This also means that this is the one time during a calendar year in which the entire world is of a similar mindset of improvement and growth.
Imagine how wonderful life world would be if 90% of us keep our resolutions, instead of the other way around? Think about how much happier everyone would be and of the successes we could have.
If you are going to reflect on something over the New Year holiday, why not reflect on that?
Getting back to resolutions, specifically making them, it should be clear to everyone that optimism alone will not get the results we seek. Additionally, science shows that real improvement is typically the result of incremental changes that have become habits. Stated differently, change can be a habit.
Who knew?
If you want to give yourself a fighting chance this year, why not make smaller and attainable resolutions? It could be as simple as:
- Attending one membership meeting each calendar quarter.
- Getting a physical.
- Reading every monthly Benefit Fund newsletter
- Contributing to a Roth IRA, like the one that the Board has built into the Defined Contribution Plan.
- Down loading the Included Health app and making sure that you and your family are enrolled.
- Down loading the Empower app and logging into it each quarter to check your investments and how much retirement income you have amassed.
- Get healthier. There’s plenty of info out there as to how to do that, so no need to reiterate that here.
- Timely reporting of any changes that would affect you or your dependents insurance status with the Health and Benefit Plan. This would include the timely reporting of divorces, marriages, births, and any other insurance coverage that you or a dependent may have gained or lost.
Anyway, happy 2025 to you and yours!
Now get it into gear and make 2025 the best year ever!
